Review We're Going to Via Acuna! / Trafford Publishing:

I have done exhaustive research of the Library of Congress in the United States. Looking for a "Hint" of a published book about a Junior High, High School or College athlete that plays on the starting lineups of all four sport's teams (Football, Basketball, Track and Field events and Baseball). Also on the computer Internet looking for a "Hint" of a published book about any other "Perfect Athlete in the United States of America?" There's "No" published book about a "True" story or even a "Fiction" story about the "Perfect Athlete" that is on the starting lineups on all four sport's teams all School and summer year long? The name of the "True" story is: "We're going to Via Acuna!" Written by Larry D. Cornell. The book is a "Action Packed!" "Play" by "Play" story. seven hundred plus pages of eight and a half by eleven-inch computer typed manuscript or Iomega 4 inch-zip disc copy of the unpublished book. About Larry at the age of 4 years old. [+]
starting his "Ultimate" goal of being a "Perfect Athlete. " Because of his Father buying him a Football, Basketball, Track and Field and Baseball and bat and a Baseball glove. The book is "Jammed Packed" with Larry's playing sport's teams events with older kids to "Hone" his athletic ability to out play all Participates at the "Name of the Game". on which ever Sport's Season it is in during the School and summer all yearlong. Larry's a "Natural" born "Perfect Athlete. " Plus all Larry wants to do. play on the starting lineups on all four sport's teams events. so by the time Larry makes it to the Monahans seventh grade Junior High Sport's Programs? Larry's ready to play on the "Big Money Enforced" sport's teams for a "Winning" Season and "Bragging Rites" in 2AAA District League play. Larry starts out on the starting lineup on offense and defense on the Monahans ninth grade Football team. But the Monahans ninth grade Football team's Coach was "Mad" at Larry because Larry ran with the Football to make as much yardage as Larry could by. bypassing the hole in the offensive line that didn't "Materialize" on the running play for Larry. So Larry would move down the offensive line of scrimmage until Larry found a hole in the offensive line to make five-yards or more on the running play. The Monahans ninth grade Football Coach would "Yell" at Larry for "Not" making a hole in the offensive line by himself. Larry's a lightweight "Super-Sonic" speedster. so Larry couldn't make a hole in the offensive line by himself. So Larry's put back on the Monahans seventh grade Football team. Larry's "Mad" as "Hell" by the way the Monahans ninth grade Football team's Coach treated Larry. Larry's on the starting line up on offense and defense of the Monahans Junior High School Football team. where Larry "Set" new "Football Records" by making more running yardage and pass reception yardage in a Football Game. Plus on defense Larry would "Strip" the Football away from the opposing Football team's "Running Backs or "Quarterback's hands and arms. " Larry would pick up the Football and run for "Touchdown" after "Touchdown" and made more "Tackles" on the defensive team than anybody else. Not even the Monahans ninth grade Football team didn't have a player or players coming up with that kind of "Football Performance" on offense and defense. The unpublished book is a "Blow" by "Blow" Football History Record of Larry's Football ability. Then at the end of Football Season. the Monahans ninth grade Football team's Coach apologized for "Not" keeping Larry on the Monahans ninth grade Football team. But next year's Football Season. The Monahans ninth grade Football team's Coach said that, "Larry would be on the Monahans ninth grade starting lineup on the Football team's offense and defense. " In Basketball Season. Larry's the starting guard for the Monahans seventh grade Basketball team. Where Larry "Scored" more "Points" in a Basketball Game. Than the Monahans ninth grade Basketball team did. Larry's a "Mover" and "Shaker" with the Basketball? Larry can dribble the Basketball with either hand. Plus can make the lay up with either hand. and shooting the Basketball for a long range jump shot, medium range jump shot or a set shot from the outer perimeter of Larry's end of the Basketball court for the Basket and the score. The book is a "Point" by "Point" record of the Basketball Season. with Larry in the driver's seat making the offense "Score" more points. either by Larry or a "Pass" to the other Basketball team's players for the Basket and the score. On defense. Larry's all the time "Stealing" the Basketball away from the opposing Basketball team's players. The Monahans seventh grade Basketball Season is "Chunked" full of "Unbelievable Antics" by Larry. that's in the middle of the Monahans seventh grade Basketball Season when the Monahans ninth grade Basketball Coach? Wanted Larry on the starting lineup on the Monahans ninth grade Basketball team. but the Monahans High School Basketball Coach said, "Let Larry finish out the Monahans seventh grade Basketball Season? To let Larry "Strengthen" up his Basketball ability?" The Monahans ninth grade Basketball Coach said to Larry, "That I was going to put you on my Monahans ninth grade Basketball team in the starting lineup at the guard position. but the Monahans High School Coach talked me out of it? So you can get more Basketball "Experience" to be up to the Monahans ninth grade "Level" of "Play" next year on the Monahans ninth grade Basketball team. " In Track and Field Season events. Larry's put on the Monahans Lobos High School Track and Field team. Because Larry's the "Only" pole-vaulter in town. It's a "Inch" by "Inch" situation? For Larry. who's a Monahans seventh grade student on the Monahans Lobos High School's Track and Field team. it's the "First" time that a Monahans seventh grade student was put on the Monahans Lobos High School Track and Field team. Or any other Monahans Lobos High School Sport's team in the history of the Monahans Lobos High School Sport's teams events? Plus there's a "Conspiracy" against Larry by the Monahans Lobos High School Track and Field team's members. Larry's told by the Monahans Lobos Track and Field members that if we do real good in the Track and Field Meets. During the Track and Field Season. the Monahans Booster Club would pay for a trip to Via Acuna, Mexico for a weekend full of "Sex" with the Mexican women. Larry falls for the trip to Mexico "Hook, Line and Sinker. " Which being's up the title of the "True'' story book. "We're going to Via Acuna!" In Baseball. Larry's on the starting lineup on the Baseball team. Larry's the "Fourth" batter or "Clean up Hitter" for the Baseball team. where Larry can bat from either side of home plate batter's box. Larry's in center outfield. because Larry's the "Only" player that can throw the Baseball from the center outfield fence to home plate rite on the "Button" to his team's catcher for the "Out" against the opposing team's player that's trying to "Steal" home plate. Larry's also in the Peewee Reese Baseball League "Record Book" for being the player with the most "Home runs" and runs batted in (RBI's). But not forget at least. Larry has the most "Stolen Bases" too. It's a "Inning" by "Inning" play by Larry. the "Perfect Athlete" that plays on all four sport's teams all School and summer year long by playing on the Football, Basketball, Track and Field events and Baseball team's starting lineup. Plus Larry's has a "Thing" for the "Girls" and "Young Women". Like his seventh grade teacher. Miss Taylor. who's only twenty-one years old. And Larry's always with his hand up in the air to have Miss Taylor lean over the front of his desk. to "Expose" her "Cleavage" of her "Big" breasts through the top of her blouse's collar! Larry also has a girlfriend named Patricia. Larry's infatuated and a "Love Slave" to all the girls and young women in Monahans, Texas. This unpublished book "Warrants" you to be the "First" book publisher on the "Block" to publish the "First" of it's "Kind" of "True" story book. ever written in the book publishing "World!".

Review Cristiano Ronaldo: The True Story of the Greatest Footballer on Earth / John Blake:

Cristiano Ronaldo was born in Madeira in 1985 and his passion for soccer began when he was just three years old. His favorite boyhood team was SL Benfica even though he was to later play for their arch rivals, Sporting. By the age of 10 Ronaldo's reputation was growing in Portugal. He had been competing in an amateur team for two years but now two of Madeira's top clubs, CS Maritimo and CD Nacional, were interested in signing him—he signed with the latter for an undisclosed sum. Ronaldo's performances at the UEFA Under 17 Championship was to catapult him into the global arena where he was spotted by former Liverpool F. C manager, Gerard Houllier. At only 16 Liverpool decided he was too young and needed more time to develop into a top soccer player. Two years later he was to catch the eye of Sir Alex Ferguson when Sporting beat Manchester United 3-1. Ronaldo was signed for a fee of GBP 12. 24 million. [+]
Ronaldo was handed the number 7 shirt on his arrival at Manchester United, a shirt number that has belonged to some of the greatest Manchester United Legends like George Best, Bryan Robson, Erin Cantina, and David Beckham. But Cristiano Ronaldo has unquestionably lived up the expectations of the number 7 shirt and has become one of the world's greatest players of all time.

Review The Gloves: A Boxing Chronicle / Mainstream Publishing:

A gritty, spirited inside look at the world of amateur boxing todayThe Golden Gloves tournament is center stage in amateur boxing-a single-elimination contest in which young hopefuls square off in steamy gyms with the boxing elite looking on. Robert Anasi took up boxing in his twenties to keep in shape, attract women, and sharpen his knuckles for the odd bar fight. He thought of entering "the Gloves," but put it off. Finally, at age thirty-two-his last year of eligibility-he vowed to fight, although he was an old man in a sport of teenagers and a light man who had to be even lighter (125 pounds) to fight others his size. So begins Anasi's obsessive preparation for the Golden Gloves. He finds Milton, a wily and abusive trainer, and joins Milton's "Supreme Team": a black teenager who used to deal guns in Harlem, a bus driver with five kids, a hard-hitting woman champion who becomes his sparring partner. Meanwhile, he observes the changing world of amateur boxing, in which investment bankers spar with ex-convicts and everyone dreads a fatal blow to the head. With the Supreme Team, he goes to the tournament, whose outcome, it seems, is rigged, like so much in boxing life today. Robert Anasi tells his story not as a journalist on assignment but as a man in the midst of one of the great adventures of his life. The Gloves, his first book, has the feel of a contemporary classic.

Review Keep Australia On Your Left: A True Story of an Attempt to Circumnavigate Australia by Kayak / Forge Books:

Two men as different as night and day. One kayak. And 10,000 miles of the most beautiful but treacherous coastline in the world. You'd have to be crazy to think you could kayak around an entire continent, right? But Eric Stiller admits: "It seemed like a good idea at the time. " It sounds like a pilot for a new Fox network live broadcast: a self-searching Manhattan kayak salesman teams up with a rowdy Australian male model to circumnavigate Australia by kayak. Thankfully, though, chest beating and contrived conflict are absent in Eric Stiller's true account of his attempt to kayak the 10,000 miles around Australia with Aussie Tony Brown. What we get instead is a look at the tedium, death-defying stamina, and hilarious blunderings of two men with little experience to prepare them for their chosen expedition. "The Australian coastline is a nightmare of tightly coiled inlets and rocky coves and sheer rock cliff faces and bays as huge and forbidding as Saharan deserts," Stiller muses while he kicks off his training with Brown by paddling around Manhattan. Raised in a family that sells Klepper kayaks, the German-made folding expedition kayaks known for their resilience in violent conditions, Stiller is an expert on the technical details of the equipment. He is not, he admits, accustomed to spending more than three months in a 17-foot-long kayak with anyone, much less Brown, a natural athlete filled with joie de vivre whose navigational strategy is simply, "Just keep Australia on your left, mate. [+]
" The curious pair encounters an impressive variety of harrowing sea conditions. The first month is a daily battle against capsizing during beach landings amid Australia's legendary skyscraper-high waves. Marathon paddling sessions through maddening back-eddies rip open their hands and scrape their torsos. The inhospitable Tasman Sea is rife with deadly creatures, including crocodiles, sharks, and sea wasps, a toxic jellyfish with tentacles several meters long. At one point the two must cross the Gulf of Carpenteria, the most arduous leg of the trip, requiring seven days on the water with no land in sight. For all their travails, however, there is relief in the form of friendly hosts (nearly everyone they meet is happy to have a smelly kayak team at the dinner table), striking scenery, wild nights in isolated cities, and the personal reckoning that comes with an effort of this magnitude. -Lolly Merrell.

Review Final Whistle: The Paddy Russell Story / Mainstream Publishing:

Tipperary native Paddy Russell has been one of the leading referees in the GAA for the past 30 years. His story is a remarkable one, following his rise from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of two All-Ireland finals. Inspired by the late, great John Moloney, Russell took his first steps in refereeing in 1976. He quickly emerged as a leading light and rapidly worked his way to the top of his profession. Russell has enjoyed a successful career but it is also one laced with drama, most notably that arising from the 1995 All-Ireland senior football final between Tyrone and Dublin. Russell later took charge of the tempestuous National Football League clash between Dublin and Tyrone in 2006, which became known as 'The Battle of Omagh', and the stormy showdown between Leinster rivals Dublin and Meath in April 2008. Just two months later, Russell was in charge of the Munster senior football championship tie between All-Ireland champions Kerry and Clare when Kerry captain Paul Galvin slapped the referee's notebook from his hands, earning a three-month suspension. In "Final Whistle", Russell reflects on his eventful journey, including these controversial matches, and describes vividly the stresses and strains of refereeing modern-day Gaelic games.

A driver of great courage, a young man full of life generous: Eugenio Castellotti lived just 26 years and five months - not much more than James Dean - and was a symbol of a love of motor racing, of challenge and risk. A victory of heart over reason was what they called his greatest success, the 1956 Mille Miglia win and it is to the beat of his heart that most of his brief existence is inexorably linked. Alife which, for the first time, has been reconstructed after vast detailed research and is now a new book, published simultaneously by Giorgio Nada Editore in two versions, Italian and English. The author is Cesare De Agosini, one of the best-known motor sport writers, who has also given us the biographies of Tazio Nuvolari, Gilles Villeneuve and Clay Regazzoni, three authentic best sellers. His elegant writing style, rich with poetic inflection, goes well the mere chronological reconstruction of Castellotti's life. He digs deep into the soul of the man, to enable the reader to participate not only in the facts but also the feelings, the passions, the emotions of this young man. This new book is complemented by an extraordinary collection of photographs, brought together by Gianni Cancellieri: beautiful pictures, many of them unpublished, that come from private collections and some of the most prestigious archives in Europe and America.
