Bound in high quality red leather with 22kt gold lettering on the cover and gold gilt edging. Case protected by clear acetate dust cover. Includes a full color illustration as well as illustrations throughout the book. This edition also includes a full size poster tucked into the back cover, suitable for framing, and a unique feature for this collectible. This collector's edition was art directed and designed by David Saylor. Mary GrandPre's artwork for both the case inset and the interior was created using pastels on toned printmaking paper. The text was set in 12-point Adobe Garamond, a typeface based on the sixteenth century type designs of Claude Garamond, redrawn by Robert Slimbach in 1989. The book is printed on 70 pound acid-free Potter Offset paper, specially manufactured for Scholastic by Fraser Papers in West Carrollton, Ohio. The case is wrapped in Taratan Bonded Leather produced at Corium Corporation in Seabrook, New Hampshire, a division of Cromwell Leather Group. [+]The book was printed and bound at Quebecor World-Hawkins in Kingsport, Tennessee. The Managing Editor was Manuela Soares and the Manufacturing Director was Angel Biola. This book is simply beautiful - you need to feel the leather to believe it.
